Search consumer complaints

Through this online service, you may search for consumer complaints received by the Consumer Protection Section. You may also request summaries of those consumer complaints. A summary identifies the business, the consumer and provides a description of the complaint. Or, rather than a summary, you may request copies of the actual records maintained by our Office by submitting a public records request.

To submit a public records request, please call the Help Center at (800) 282-0515. Copies of public records can be provided to you via e-mail at no cost, photocopied at the cost of 5-cents per page, or copied to a CD at the cost of the CD, plus postage if mailed. An invoice for costs will be sent with the records and may be paid by personal check or money order. Please note, all record requests made to the Attorney General’s office, including requests for summaries of consumer complaints, are considered public records, subject to Ohio’s Public Records Act https://codes.ohio.gov/orc/149.43

This online service for requesting consumer complaint summaries is provided for your convenience. This service provides summaries only, not all records that may be available under the Ohio Public Records Act. By law, you may request records anonymously. If you choose not to provide an email or mailing address for delivery of the records, please note that we will not be able to contact you. Instead, you will need to call the Help Center at (800) 282-0515 to make arrangements to collect the records.

After submission of your request below, a confirmation number will be assigned to your request.
